About Paul Kelly and Sandy Schlesselman

paul_awardPaul Kelly began his career in insurance sales in June of 1977 as a Mutual of Omaha agent in Denver, Colorado. Working exclusively for the Frank Zarlengo Agency, Paul quickly established himself as an exceptional agent winning the coveted “Rookie of the Year” award for 1977, and he has continued to garner top sales awards to this day. The key to Paul Kelly’s success has been his work ethic, his compassion and his ability to understand the needs of his clients. In recent years Paul has won trips to Florida and Alaska while establishing himself as a consistent sales leader in the field of Medicare supplements, fixed annuities, life insurance, and long term care.

An exceptional student in his day, Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in 1982 from WartburgCollege in Waverly, Iowa, graduating with honors. He also earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1987, accumulating over 120 graduate hours of study. Believing that there is no substitute for hard work,  Paul has applied that attitude to all areas of his life, both personal and professional.

paul_sandyIn addition to being an insurance agent, Paul has also been an ordained Lutheran pastor (ELCA) for over 25 years, serving churches in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri.

Sandy Schlesselman, a native of Cole Camp, Missouri, began her professional career as a music teacher teaching band and vocal music in the Benton County R-2 School District in Lincoln, Missouri. A 1976 graduate of Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, Sandy taught in Lincoln for 6 years and in Branson for one year before deciding to move to Dubuque, Iowa to study theology at Wartburg Theological Seminary. It was there that she met and married her husband, Paul Kelly. In 1987, Sandy earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg having distinguished herself academically, serving as Student Body President her senior year. Since that time, Sandy has chosen to work with her husband, serving various congregations in the Midwest, and was also a vocal music teacher for many years before retiring in 2012. She is now a co-owner and licensed agent of Paul Kelly Insurance Agency.

Paul and Sandy chose to live in Cole Camp because they value small town life and wanted to raise their son, Noah, among people who take great pride in their work and in their community.  They have never regretted that decision. Of course, Sandy’s roots run deep in Cole Camp. Her parents owned and operated the local John Deere dealership for over 40 years, and were very active in making Cole Camp the caring place it is today. That same civic pride and work ethic has marked the life of Paul Kelly and Sandy Schlesselman during their time in Cole Camp as well. They have served on the city council, been members of the Chamber of Commerce, helped establish the local food pantry, and served on many committees through the years in an effort to improve the lives of those living in and around Cole Camp. They simply wanted to make their town truly a “home” town where kids play without fear and the elderly are cared for.

paul_fishingPaul and Sandy value few things more than their reputation and over the past 30 years they have earned a sterling reputation as people who offer integrity and service to their neighbors and clients. They care and it shows. With Paul And Sandy it’s always personal, never simply business as usual. Building trust is a priority for themselves and their agency. Clients can always count on them as friends to offer sound advice and affordable solutions.
